What is included with my RestaKit license?

How many locations does one license cover?

One company and up to 3 locations. Request a price for more.

Can I configure locations differently?

Yes. Configure features by location and share custom changes with other locations covered by your license.

Can I customize any part of my software?

You can customize any part of your software to suit your business. Use the change guide to plan and test development work.

Does source-code access mean I own all the intellectual property?

The RestaKit product and brand remain ours. You own a license to your restaurant software and can customize it. See Your license.

Costs and services

What does RestaKit cost?

$1,000 during beta: $300 to reserve your place, $700 when we deploy your software. Standard package: $3,660. Save $2,660. We refund the $300 if you cancel before we load your menu data. The standard software price is $3,000. Deployment, installation, human testing and setup of one shared menu across up to three locations are included with early access. Different menus are quoted separately. See the pricing page for separate costs.

What costs extra?

Hosting, payment processing, optional tools, new plugins and add-ons, and work beyond the included setup.

What does the included menu setup cover?

We set up one menu shared across up to three locations using your supplied categories, prices, photos and dish options, including sizes, modifiers and extras. Different menus are quoted separately. Recipes, ingredient and stock mapping, new photography, data migration and custom development are quoted separately.

Can I install RestaKit myself?

Yes. You can use the included instructions or your developer. Deployment and installation by RestaKit for up to three locations sharing one menu are included with early access. Different menus are quoted separately.

Hosting and launch

Can I keep my current system while introducing RestaKit?

Yes, during preparation and testing. Confirm any connections before switching workflows.

Where is my software hosted?

In your hosting account. You pay the provider directly. RestaKit or your developer can help with setup.

Does RestaKit charge a hosting fee?

No. You pay your host directly. Initial deployment and installation for up to three locations sharing one menu are included with early access. Different menus are quoted separately. Hosting charges are paid to your provider.

What backup instructions are provided?

The pack includes operating and backup instructions. RestaKit or your developer can help manage backups, or you can handle them yourself. See Backups and recovery.

How do I roll back a change?

Have the person who maintains your software test how to restore the previous version and recover your data. See Backups and recovery.

How do I get started?

Set up your software, add your restaurant details and test a shift with your team. RestaKit can help with setup. See Getting started.

Can I keep my existing devices and payment terminal?

Use RestaKit through a browser on your phone, tablet or computer. Printer and payment-terminal connections depend on the model and provider. See Devices and connections.

Will it work without internet?

Menu browsing and ordering need a connection to your restaurant software. Online payments and connected services need internet access. See Devices and connections.

Who manages hosting, backups and updates?

You can manage these yourself or arrange help from your developer or RestaKit. Ongoing services are priced separately from deployment. See Hosting your software and Backups and recovery.

Customization

Which changes can I make in settings?

Menus, prices, choices and extras, allergens, tables, staff access and branding. New workflows may need development.

Can an AI app builder change my software?

Yes. An AI app builder can help write changes to your software. It needs access to the relevant code and development tools. Review and test its work before using it during service. See Making changes.

Can my developer or RestaKit make the change?

Yes. Use the included developer pack or request a separate RestaKit quote.

Developer handover

What do I give my developer?

Give your developer the included pack and describe the change you need. Decide who will test, install and maintain it. See Developer handover for the contents.

How should custom changes be checked?

Use a separate test environment, sample restaurant data and the supplied tests. Check the complete workflow with staff and test recovery.

Updates and fixes

How do I update customized software?

Follow the upgrade guide; test with your customizations before deployment.

Which problems does RestaKit fix free?

If something goes wrong in RestaKit's own code or in one of our updates, we fix it free. Problems caused by changes, installation or settings made outside RestaKit are not covered.
